MCC Career Adviser Offers Advice in Cover Letters for Dummies
(Bradenton, Fla., April 30, 2009) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Career Resource Center adviser Haley Richardson's tips about how to craft an impressive cover letter now help more than just MCC students.
Four samples of Richardson's work were published in "Cover Letters for Dummies" released earlier this year. The book offers advice on how to reply to ads, network for job leads, build online profiles and use other tactics to find a job in a fast-paced, Internet-savvy workforce.
Richardson's samples range from traditional cover letters to cover notes used to draw attention to electronic applications. The information is especially helpful during tough economic times when jobs are more difficult to find.
"Frustrations are very high so the book helps people keep their motivation and self-esteem. Persistence is how people are finding jobs right now," Richardson said.
"Cover Letters for Dummies" can be found at any major bookstore.
