Beginner Computer and Other Courses Offered at SCF Venice
(Bradenton, Fla., September 4, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Corporate and Community Development (CCD) will now offer Beginner Computer 1 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
The hands-on noncredit course is designed for those with little or no experience using a computer. Topics include proper power-up and shutdown, using a mouse and keyboard, navigating in Windows, saving a file, creating folders, printing and more.class, which is limited to eight students, will be held 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. The fee is $129.
Other courses offered at SCF Venice this fall are Excel 2007 and Word 2007. Word 2007 will introduce computer users to the basic features of Microsoft's latest word processing program. Basic features of Word including creating, saving and printing a document; editing text, formatting text, creating headers/footers, margins and page orientation will be taught. Word 2007 will be held 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2. The fee is $169.
Excel 2007 will be offered 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. In this class, students will learn how to navigate through the Excel software, the components of a spreadsheet, enter text and data, formulas, formatting, saving, plus more. The fee is $169.
