The Medical Technology and Simulation Center (MTSC) at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Lakewood Ranch, in partnership with the Florida Healthcare Simulation Alliance, hosted "ISIM: Improving Simulation Instructional Methods," a two-day continuing education course for Florida's health care educators and clinicians who want to implement or enhance the use of simulation in their programs or agencies.

Saint Stephens Episcopal School was the winner of the Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld High School Brain Bowl Tournament hosted by the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Brain Bowl team at SCF Bradenton April 25. Students named the tournament in honor of SCF President Probstfeld for her strong support of the Brain Bowl Fire team, which became the first SCF Brain Bowl team to win state and national tournaments and defeat prestigious universities, including Duke University and University of Alabama.
