Is there a mentoring program for
adjuncts?
All departments have some form of mentoring for adjunct
faculty. You can obtain information from your department
chair.
How many office hours do I need each
week?
Adjunct faculty do not have required office hours. Extended
adjuncts in regular fall and spring semesters are required 5
office hours per week. Other questions regarding this subject
can be directed to your department chair.
What do I do if I am going to miss
class?
All classes must be met as scheduled for the entire class
period. If illness, accident, or unforeseen events prevent an
instructor from beginning class on time or continuing for the
full period, he/she should contact the Department Chair as
soon as possible to provide for a suitable substitute.
Adjunct faculty will have $30 deducted from their total
compensation for each hour of class time for which he/she is
absent during the semester.
Where can I give a make-up exam?
Adjunct Faculty should visit the
Assesment and Testing center web page for the Faculty and
Student responsibilty. Access the
Assessment & Testing Center Policy and Form from the web
site by clicking here..
Where can I get supplies such as chalk, markers,
overhead transparency sheets, etc.?
Supplies should be requested through your department.

How can I contact someone in the library?

Is there a catalog of audio-visual
material?
Library catalog searches can be limited to just videos, and
can be searched by keyword, subject or title.
Is there a library orientation?
You can make an appointment with a campus librarian for a
tour, demonstration, and information about library services.

Where can I obtain information about textbooks and
text changes?
Much of the information you will need can be obtained by
talking with the department assistant. Contact information
can be found at SCF - Divisions/Departments. Textbook
publishers now have many additional online resources. You can
obtain information by checking the URL located on the
textbook.
How can I register for IT training?
Faculty professional development is an important part of the
SCF culture. To view the FPDT website which includes online
registration, calendar of events and other resources go to

Where can I obtain copies of syllabi of other
faculty who also teach my course(s)?
Many of the departments have sample syllabi online. You can
search for these on the department website under SCF -
Divisions/Departments. If you need further information, talk
with your mentor or department chair.
