Since 1966, the Neel Performing Arts Center has served as a cultural center for Manatee and Sarasota counties hosting both college and community sponsored events. Newly remodeled in 1999, the auditorium features a 65- by 40- foot stage, seating for 830, as well as wheelchair accessible seating and restrooms. The magnificent Elizabeth M. Eaton Memorial Pipe Organ, a 50-rank, 3-manual instrument built by master craftsman Charles McManis, was rededicated in October, 2000.

On the north east side of the building is The Gallery at SCF The Gallery at SCF provides dynamic exhibitions that embrace critical issues and connections between art, education and culture.

Located on the west side of the building is the new David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre, the new home of Studio 84 Productions, the SCF student theatre company.

Music from a distant river image
Music from a Distant River

November 1st 7:30pm at the Neel Performing Arts Center

Pack light for this musical expedition through tangled forests, dusky canyons, butterfly grasslands, an abandoned city, and a patient savanna.  Join SCF music faculty member Dr. Pete Carney, on a musical row down an imagined but not yet forgotten river. Carney presents a concert of original music where you might hear melodies from a past dream, or see villagers you think you remember. You might hear flowers in liquid colors. If this river ever existed, you’ve paddled here before. Pack light.
