Carmine Garofalo Head Volleyball Coach

Coach Garofalo starts his second season as head volleyball coach at State College of Florida. In his first season at SCF, he led Manatees Volleyball to a 35-7 record (.833) which included a 26 game winning streak. The team won the Suncoast Conference Championship (8-0) and finished the season ranked 12th Nationally and 3rd in the State.

Recognized by his peers for his contribution to a successful season, Coach Garofalo was selected Suncoast Conference Coach of the Year. Under his leadership, a number of his players received state and national recognition including, the Suncoast Conference Player of the Year, 1 NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention, 2 NJCAA District G & H All-Tournament Team, 2 FCCAA All-State Team, 4 first team conference, 2 second team conference awards and 3 player of the week selections.

Garofalo brings over 18 years of head coaching experience including 11 years at the collegiate level. Prior to SCF, he was the head coach of the men’s and women’s volleyball teams at Southern Vermont College, the women's teams at Florida International University in Miami, McGill University in Montreal Canada and Vanier College also located in Canada.

Coach Garofalo is committed to instilling a volleyball culture on his team that promotes the traditional values of respect, commitment, personal responsibility and hard work. His belief in the philosophy of teamwork, self-discipline and striving for excellence is not limited to the volleyball court. This year, Manatee Volleyball Players truly exemplified the meaning of a STUDENT-ATHLETE! 13 players earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with four students earning a GPA of 4.0 and four others with 3.5 or higher! The hard work paid off with the student-athletes earning a "team GPA" of 3.44 along with Academic All-American honors going to Whitney McElhiney, Natalie Gaudreau and Eve Lewis.

Garofalo graduated from McGill University (Canada) with a degree in Physical Education. After teaching high school P.E. for seven years, he started his own business and worked as a Certified Financial Planner for nine years. He moved to Florida 15 years ago and started businesses in the Health and Nutrition industry. Currently, he is the owner of Healthy Fundraising USA, a company that helps groups across the country raise money using healthier and environmentally friendly products. He lives in Bradenton with wife (SCF assistant coach) Sylvie Garofalo and their three children Amanda, Anthony and Riccardo.

Billie Timmons Assistant Coach

This is Coach Timmon's third year as assistant coach at SCF.  She is our recruiting coordinator and works with our athletes to ensure continued success in the classroom.

Coach Timmons played volleyball at the College on a full athletic scholarship.  She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in sport management from Webber International University.  While attending Webber, she led her team and finished in the top 10 of her conference for blocks.

Timmons began her coaching career in high school at several athletic camps and developmental clinics.  She was the head junior varsity volleyball coach and the assistant varsity coach at Nova High School located near Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and aided in the start of Broward Wildfire Volleyball Academy.  At Braden River High School, she was the head coach for the freshman team and assistant coach for varsity.

Timmons works as a Sales Analyst for Gold Coast Eagle Distributing. In her free time she loves to travel, go boating, and enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, chocolate lab "Wrigley", friends and family.
