Welcome to State College of Florida Manatees Volleyball.
What an exciting and inspirational year 2010 has been! Our talented and hard working athletes represented our college, community and sport with tremendous pride and character.
Our Lady Manatees competed in the Suncoast Conference of the Florida Region, one of the most competitive in the country. With four teams ranked in the top 20 in the nation, our Manatees proved that they were up to the challenge, finishing with a 35-7 overall record which included: a 26 game winning streak, going undefeated at home and in conference, Suncoast Conference Champs, ranked 12th in the country, and finishing 3rd in the State. In addition, our Manatees won numerous tournaments and awards this season, including All-American Honorable Mention, All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-State, Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.
In addition to being successful on the court, our Manatees were equally successful in the classroom, with 13 of our 15 players earning a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with four students earning a 4.0 and four others with a GPA of 3.5 or higher! Our ladies certainly exemplified the meaning of a true STUDENT-ATHLETE!
At SCF Volleyball, we are not only committed to consistently compete for State and National Championships but more importantly to helping our young women achieve their full academic, athletic and personal potential. We promote the traditional values of respect, commitment, personal responsibility and hard work as the foundation of our Volleyball Culture.
Through our philosophy of teamwork, self-discipline and striving for excellence, we aspire to achieve the highest level of success both in the classroom as well as on the volleyball court. As such, our athletes will have opportunities to learn skills that will help them in all areas of their lives and help them be, all that they are capable of becoming.
Our dedicated staff respects each student as an individual; their personal welfare will always be our highest priority.
On behalf of our volleyball family, I want to thank all our friends, family and supporters for the tremendous support we received this season. To our 2011 incoming class and potential recruits, we look forward to working with all of you to continue building our volleyball program into one of the most respected programs in the country!
