The Career Planning Process can be time consuming and frustrating. Use this checklist as a way to determine your major, research job prospects, and learn application techniques so you will be rewarded for your hard work.

Step 1 Students How do I know what careers are right for me?

By completing career assessments you will become more aware of your values, interests, skills, and personality style. Typefocus will suggest careers that may be suited for you.

Step 2 Students How do I decide on a career or major?

You can narrow the list of careers suggested by Typefocus by visiting the CRC, talking with an advisor, or utilizing the following online resource to gather and compare information on job descriptions, required education, wage information, and employment projections.

Step 3 Students Now that I have decided on a career or major, what is next?

Declare your major.
Associate of Arts degree (AA Transfer degree)
Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree (AS degree)

Get transfer information. Review Common Prerequisite Manual at Florida Virtual Campus for any Florida university or check out your transfer school's website.

Identify barriers to success, ways to overcome them, and sources for support.
