Autobiography"

Eight Tips to a Concise
Resume:
Avoid Repeating Information - if you did the same tasks in
many jobs, focus on the accomplishments rather than the
tasks
- Eliminate Old Experience - if you have a long career
history, only go back 10-15 years
- Don't include Irrelevant Information - avoid hobbies,
DOB, marital status, and old skills
- Cut Down on Job Duties - create a paragraph the gives
scope of responsibility
- Remove "References Available Upon Request" - today it's
an obvious thing
- Use a Telegraphic Writing Style - eliminate personal
pronouns and minimize the use of articles when preparing a
resume
- Edit Unnecessary Words - review you resume and eliminate
phrases like "responsible for" and "duties include."
- Customize Your Resume for Your Job Target - Only include
information relevant to your goal. This is particularly
important for career changers who need to focus on
transferable skills and de-emphasize unrelated career
accomplishments
