Disability Resource Center (DRC) Vision / Mission

 MISSION STATEMENT    The Disability Resource Center (DRC) is committed to ensuring equal access to qualified disabled individuals to the programs, services, and activities of the college.

and

To advocate for, and empower disabled individuals, through the provision of information, services, and skill development (problem-solving, self-advocacy, etc.) to reach their full personal, academic and vocational potential.

LEGAL MANDATE   "No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States…shall, solely by reason of his or her disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance". (Section 504 or the Rehabilitation Act of 1973)

"Subject to the provisions of this title, no qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by such entity." (Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act)
