There are a variety of college rules that are of interest to disabled individuals, the primary and most inclusive is the Accessibility For Disabled Individuals, which explicitly states the college's commitment to full compliance with both the spirit and the letter of the law. The rule directs the American Disability Act (ADA) Coordinator, with appropriate college officials, to continue to identify and remove any rule, practice or procedure which discriminates against persons with disabilities and to develop a procedure to resolve any disability related complaint or dispute. Although the college is proactive in developing access and inclusion by design, the College Access Policy explicitly recognizes its affirmative obligation of ensuring "meaningful access" and providing "equally effective communication" to and with disabled individuals. The College Access Policy directs the Disability Resource Center (DRC) to provide information and develop procedures for the provision of accommodations (adaptive devices and/or auxiliary staff and services) to meet the individual and unique needs of disabled persons.
