Information
One of the most important resourses provided by the Disability Resource Center is a tremendous amount of information on a broad range of topics of relevance to disabled persons. The DRC strongly believes that information is power and through providing access to important information the center is empowering disabled individuals to advocate for themselves, realize greater independence and achieve their goals. Major categories of information include college (admissions, programs, requirements, transfer etc.) legal (legislation, federal Implementing regulations, standards, guidelines, and court cases), effective study strategies (how to study, read a textbook, predict exam questions etc.), technology (adaptive devices, access computer peripherals, voice synthesis and recognition, etc.,) community resources (disability support agencies and groups (vocational rehabilitation, Blind services, United Cerebral Palsy, etc.) as well as general support organizations and groups (health services, food, clothing, legal aid etc.) and transportation (accessible vehicle, buses, handi van, etc.).
