New Students
There are 5 steps for new students at SCF to obtain their VA benefits
Step 1: Apply for your VA benefits

After your application is complete print a copy and bring it in to your VA Advisor
I am a Veteran
I am a Reservist/National Guard Member
I am a Dependent of a Veteran
I am a Spouse/Surviving Spouse of a Veteran
I am a Veteran Under the Post 9/11 GI Bill and Wish to Transfer My Entitlement
Step 2: Enroll at SCF
Step 3: Please bring the following documentation to your VA Advisor.

Veterans

Member 4 copy of your DD-214

VA form 22-1990 or 22-1995 (from step 1 )

Certification of Eligibility (when you receive it from the VA)

Spouses / Dependants
-
VA form 22-5490 or 22-5495 (from step 1)

Certification of Eligibility (when you receive it from the VA)

Spouses must supply a copy of their Marriage Certificate

Dependent s must supply a copy of their Birth Certificate
Step 4: Request Certification of courses
Step 5: Payment

All students will automatically receive a “No Void Hold” so their courses will not be dropped. You will be responsible for the timely payment of any balance due on your account once you start receiving your benefits.·
