Advising Center, through the assessment and testing centers on each campus, offers an extensive program of group and individual testing designed to meet the needs of students. The assessment & testing centers will offer Academic Affairs Testing for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota students [i.e., Make-up Exams, and Accommodated Testing.] Please schedule your appointment online at scf.edu/testing.
Student Responsibility
Complete the student section of the Academic Affairs Testing Referral form. Forms are available at the Assessment/Testing Center on each campus. To access the form click here.
Schedule an appointment, you must schedule enough time for your test. Whatever the time amount is that your instructor gives you for the test is the amount of time you must schedule.
Give the Academic Affairs Testing Referral form with the completed student section to the instructor 5 days prior to the scheduled test date.
You must have a non-expired government issued photo ID to take the test.
Instructor Responsibility
Instructors will complete their section of the Academic Affairs Testing Referral form and deliver the test to the Assessment/Testing Center.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is an open CLEP testing site. State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will allow credit for satisfactory scores earned in the comprehensive and subject examinations offered by the College Entrance Examination Board. A maximum of 30 hours may be earned in this manner. The student must score at or above the 50th percentile of the national norms. No credit will be allowed if the student has attempted or earned college credit in a course in a similar area or higher level.
The CLEP test is a total of $92 with two separate payments.
The Service Fee of $15 is paid online and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The Test Fee of $77 is paid on the day of the test (check, money order, credit card or debit card only.) Credit card or debit card are preferred. Checks for the test fee must be payable to CLEP.
SCF does not offer the College Composition Modular Exam.
Check with your advisor and university policy for eligibility and minimum score requirements.
Important: Bring two forms of ID. One form of ID must be your driver's license or passport or state issued ID.
CLEP tests are computer-based and are 90 minutes long. You should plan on being at the college for a total of 3 hours.
You will get a printout of your CLEP score immediately following the test.
It takes approximately 2-3 weeks for your school to receive your score.
There are no exam rest breaks.

The assessment & testing centers at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota offer test proctoring services. Students enrolled in distance learning or other courses can take their required examinations at our institution rather than traveling to the original institution for evaluative purposes. Please schedule your appointment online at scf.edu/testing.
The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Assessment/Testing Center participates with many institutions of higher learning as a Correspondence Testing Center in both paper-based and computer-based formats. Prospective candidates should contact their host institution to verify State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Assessment/Testing Center as an acceptable location.
Arrangements for such testing must be made before the exam is sent to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.

There is a charge of $25.00 for up to 3 hours for each proctored exam and $50.00 for anything over 3 hours. The fee covers handling of the examination consistent with sound testing procedures and the instructions from the home institution, completion of any and all forms and actual supervision while taking the test, however, any postage will be the responsibility of the home institution or the student.

We will not make special trips to the post office, UPS, FEDEX, etc. for quicker mailings. (If priority mail, etc. has been paid by your home institution or yourself, the envelope will go out with the regular pick up or delivery which may be the following business day.)
Students must complete a Request for Services Form from the Disability Resource Center. The assessment & testing centers on the Bradenton and Venice campus' will make appointments to proctor tests, quizzes or exams for those students meeting the requirements for accommodated testing.
