The American Chemical Society was organized to enhance the study of chemistry and its related fields, and to increase community members' awareness of the importance of chemistry as it relates to their lives. Activities include education and career counseling for chemistry, engineering and biotechnical science majors.

The Environmental Trekkers Club

The Earth Club on the Bradenton campus and the Environmental Trekkers Club on the Venice campus promote an interest in the outdoors and advocate environmental awareness. Activities, which vary each year, include recycling projects, camping and hiking trips, environmental service project at parks and nature preserves, and educational opportunities for students interested in outdoor recreation and environmental issues. The club participates in two annual coastal cleanups, the Adopt-a-Coast program, and a highway cleanup project, as well as sponsoring guest speakers and an Earth Day celebration. Members attend conferences, social events and training functions, which are oriented toward the outdoors and environmental issues. The Earth Club has won several service awards.
