The Cinema Experience:  Films in the 1950's

Enjoy the magic of the movies as they were presented during their Golden Ages in "The Cinema Experience:  Films of the 1950's".  Six feature films are showcased from the era, introduced by Del Jacobs, author, filmmaker and professor at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.  Each movie is preceded by authentic programming of what audiences would have watched with that picture when it was first released -- newsreels, cartoons, short subjects, previews of coming attactions and more.  A brief discussion will be held after your "Night at the Movies" as well.  Whether you were too young to remember the Golden Ages or if you want a chance to relive it, this class is both a unique experience for moviegoers today and a trip down memory lane.  The film series will be held at the South Florida Museum and students may attend the series or individual classes.

The student can register for individual movies or for the package of 6 movies at a lower cost.  There is a separate cost for members of South Florida Museum.  If you would like to become a member, please contact Jessica Schubick at (941) 746-4131 ext. 27.
