 As a licensed professional, the dental hygienist promotes optimum oral health for individuals and groups of individuals through preventive education and clinical and therapeutic services.

Where are Dental Hygienists Employed?

The Dental Hygiene Program will prepare the student for employment as a dental health educator and clinician in a variety of settings including private dental practice, public health departments, institutional and research facilities, and public and private schools.

Job Outlook
Employment of dental hygienists is projected to grow 33 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations.
