Embracing Our Differences

Embracing Our Differences is a not-for-profit organization based in Sarasota, Florida, that uses the power of art and education to expand consciousness and open the heart to celebrate the diversity of the human family. It accomplishes this through an annual, large-scale, juried art exhibition and a comprehensive series of educational initiatives, programs and resources designed for teachers and students.

The centerpiece of Embracing Our Differences is an outdoor juried international art exhibit featuring 39 billboard size images (12.5 feet by 16 feet) created by local, national and international artists, writers and students. The display reflects the artists' interpretations of the theme "enriching lives through diversity."

State College of Florida has participated in the art exhibit since its inception, with staff and students being selected for their art and/or quotes.

Below are previous years' selected quotes and “Honorable Mention” artwork:

- “The Good Within: Look and try to find any evidence of good that hides within your opponent before taking an unnecessary defensive act” - SCF Student, Gleb Mishchenko
