SCF Venice to Hold Collegiate School Information Sessions in March

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 13, 2020) —State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) in Venice will host information sessions for rising high school juniors in Sarasota County interested in enrolling at SCFCS-Venice for the 2020-2021 school year.

Families with students entering 11th grade should attend one of two information sessions Tuesday March 3, or Wednesday, March 25, from 6-7 p.m. in the Selby Room of Building 800 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

SCFCS is a tuition-free public charter school. Students in grades 11 and 12 are fully dual-enrolled in college courses and simultaneously complete the requirements for a high school diploma and an associate degree. 

Students applying to the program must have a 3.0 unweighted grade-point average and pass the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) before their application will be considered. The Collegiate School student services department is available for assistance during this process. Collegiate School students are selected through lottery drawings through June or until all seats are full. Applications for the lottery will be available at the information session.

SCFCS-Venice is a tuition-free charter school. Students in grade 12 in the fall of 2021 are in the inaugural class currently enrolled at the Collegiate School. By 2022, SCFCS-Venice will host ninth through 12th grade students.
