(Bradenton, Fla., March 26, 2019) — The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) and the South Bay Occupational Therapy Forum will host CarFit check-ups 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Apr. 14 in parking lot D, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. The event is free and open to senior drivers by appointment. Each appointment takes about 20 minutes.

CarFit is an interactive educational program developed in partnership by AAA, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). It teaches participants how to make personal vehicles ‘fit’ for better safety and mobility.

Trained professionals take participants through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle, recommending minor adjustments to improve driving comfort. An occupational therapist will be on hand to provide information on maintaining and strengthening driving health.
