SCFCS Graduates Eighty-Three Students

State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) graduated 83 students Friday, May 3, at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Neel Performing Arts Center. This marked the sixth year the school has held commencement ceremonies, in which students receive their high school diplomas in the morning and their Associate in Arts degrees from SCF in the evening.  

More than half of the graduating class have made the SCF dean’s or president’s list at SCF at least once. Graduates have completed approximately 12,000 hours of combined community service. Students have earned more than $1.6 million in Bright Futures, USFSM and FGCU scholarships and 27 graduates are on track to receive Bright Futures.  

The commencement address was delivered by SCF Executive Vice President and Provost, Dr. Todd G. Fritch. Graduate speakers were Garrett Griffin and Olivia Eldert. Christy Huynh received the Graduate Achievement Award, Ishmael Rolle received the Graduate Appreciation Award and Riley Lewellen received the Outstanding Graduate Award. 

SCFCS graduates have been accepted into dozens of colleges, including Cazenovia College, Elon University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Flagler College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida International University, Florida Polytechnic University, Florida Southern College, Florida State University, Hofstra University, Johnson and Wales, Keiser University, Lipscomb University, Mercy College, New College of Florida, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Rollins College, Samford University, Southeastern University, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, Stetson University, University of Alabama, University of Florida, University of Illinois, University of Miami, University of North Florida, University of Tampa, University of Tennessee and Warren Wilson College.
