SCF to Host STEMsmart Educators’ Summit Jan. 22

(Bradenton, Fla., January 18, 2013) ­– State College of Florida, Manatee- Sarasota (SCF) will host the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s STEMsmart Educators’ Summit on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 8 a.m. – 2:45 p.m., at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

The summit, which features break-out sessions and hands-on exhibits, will enable 100 middle and high school teachers from Sarasota and Charlotte counties at the event to share best practices and learn about emerging science and math topics like nanotechnology, sustainability and Bring Your Own Devices classrooms.

SCF Andrew Swanson, associate professor, natural sciences, Jose Ors, assistant professor, natural sciences, and Adrienne Gould-Choquette, SCF emerging technologies program director, will be leading workshops at the event.
