Embracing Our Differences 2013 Selects Submissions from SCF Students and Employees

(Bradenton, Fla., March 5, 2013) — Quotations by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students and employees will be featured by the 2013 Embracing Our Differences outdoor art exhibit on display from March 31–June 2 at Island Park in downtown Sarasota, March 31 – April 29 at Anthony T. Rossi Waterfront Park in downtown Bradenton, and May 1 – June 2 at North Port High School.

Original art will be matched with quotations by the following SCF students and employees for the displays:

  • “The Good Within: Look and try to find any evidence of good that hides within your opponent before taking an unnecessary defensive act.” – Gleb Mischchenko, SCF student
  • “Diversity is like a kaleidoscope; beautiful no matter which way you view its parts.” – Sara Graceffa, SCF student
  • “When we learn to honor each other’s holidays, we can celebrate together all year long!” – Kim Garvey, SCF project manager, e-Learning

SCF student Angela Perez was one of six who won Honorable Mention for her artwork “Odd Girl Out,” which will be featured on the Embracing our Differences website and in the catalog. The artwork was one of 45 submissions selected from more than 2,400 entries from 44 countries and 33 states.
