SCF Fine Art Gallery Hosts Fundraiser for Philippine Typhoon Victims

(Bradenton, Fla., November 19, 2013) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Fine Art Gallery, SCF Museum Club and Manatee Habitat for Humanity and will host a Philippine typhoon art fundraiser and sale “What is Home?” 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

SCF invites staff, students and community members to donate their artistic creations to benefit the Philippine disaster relief effort. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity to support typhoon victims.

Participating in the fundraiser are Jamie Tracy, SCF assistant professor, art, design, humanities; Joe Loccisano, SCF Fine Art Gallery manager; Jean Blackburn, an international artist living in Sarasota; and Jeffrey Hansen, an SCF alum. Students from the SCF Collegiate School, SCF Museum Club and Temple Beth Sholom School Sarasota also will participate.

Donors include Art and Frame of Sarasota and Kris Dorton, owner of The Framer in Bradenton.
