SCF to Offer Information Sessions for Certified Paralegal Examination Review Course

(Bradenton, Fla., February 4, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions for an online review course designed to prepare participants for the Certified Legal Assistant/Paralegal (CLA/CP) examination administered in May.

Information sessions for the Certified Paralegal Examination Review course will be held 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., building 18, room 201; and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. E., Center for Innovation and Technology, room 134.

Offered as a noncredit or credit class March 10-May 7, the eight-week course is open to participants who are interested in getting a general overview of the various disciplines in law or are preparing for the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) CLA/CP exam.

The NALA certification, a nationally recognized certification for legal assistants and paralegals, is acknowledged by the legal community as a sign of professionalism and competence. SCF will administer the NALA CLA/CP examination in May on Mondays and Tuesdays, noon-6 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. E.

Participants must start the registration process early to be eligible for exams that are offered at SCF May 2-31.
