SCF Hosts Spring 2014 Teacher Prep Info Sessions

(Bradenton, Fla., February 21, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions about its Alternative Certification Program (ACP). The program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a noneducation major or teachers with temporary certificates who need professional course work.

Hour-long sessions are scheduled at 6 p.m. on the following dates:

Tuesday, March 11, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. E., Center for Innovation and Technology, room 215;Thursday, March 20, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., building 9, room 131; andThursday, March 27, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 800, Selby Room.

After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will be eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2,200.
