Enrollment Open for Kids' Summer Spectrum

(Bradenton, Fla., February 26, 2014) — Registration is open for Kids' Summer Spectrum, a State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) summer camp provided by Corporate and Community Development for children ages 7 through 15.

Morning sessions 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and afternoon sessions 1:30-5 p.m. will be held Monday-Friday, June 10-Aug. 8, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., and SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. E., Sarasota; sessions at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail., will be held from July 14-18 and July 21-25 only. Early morning drop-off is available at SCF Bradenton and SCF Lakewood Ranch for an additional fee.

A lively combination of fun and education, Kids' Summer Spectrum classes cover a variety of topics such as puppetry, jewelry design, safari, clay creations, science, junior journalism, gross chemistry, cooking and more.   

Hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) classes, including clay animation, video game design, stop-motion animation and creative robotics, also are offered at all three campuses:

  • ·         SCF Lakewood Ranch, June 16-20, June 23-27 and July 7-11, ages 11-15; June 23-27, ages 7-10;
  • ·         SCF Venice, July 14-18 and July 21-25, ages 11-15; and
  • ·         SCF Bradenton, July 28-Aug. 1 and Aug. 4-8, ages 11-15.
