SCF Board Report: September 16, 2014

(Bradenton, Fla., September 16, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting Sept. 16 at SCF Lakewood Ranch.

The board gave approval for SCF to move forward with the selection process for an architect and engineering firm for the new Library and Learning Center. The design phase is expected to begin in Spring 2015.

At the meeting, board members also participated in a planning session for the upcoming 2015-2020 SCF strategic planning process, which will be facilitated by Barry Banther, president and chief executive officer of Banther Consulting.

The board also approved:

  • financial and non-financial consent agenda items;
  • two Quick Response Training Grant proposals from CareerSource Florida to assist Legal Debt Solutions, LLC with training 36 new employees and Voalte with training 150 new employees;
  • a new college rule; and
  • Chiller Plant upgrade project.

The next board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at SCF Lakewood Ranch.
