SCF Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra to Present Music Festival on Jewish Themes

(Bradenton, Fla., November 4, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra will present a music festival on Jewish themes to celebrate the rich musical heritage of our Jewish community in a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., in Neel Performing Arts Center, building 11 East.

Music selections include “Yiddish Dances,” “Shalom!” and “Kol Nidrei.” The theme song from “Shindler’s List,” “Symphony No. 1: In Memoriam, Dresden, 1945” and “Israel: A Symphonic Poem” by Palmetto composer Dan Ritz.

The Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra are directed by Robyn Bell, SCF director of instrumental studies.
