SCF Board Report: December 2, 2014

(Bradenton, Fla., December 2, 2014) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting Dec. 2 at SCF Bradenton.

SCF President Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld gave an update on SCF’s 2015 legislative priorities, including a request for equity funding for $6.2 million and the remaining $8.9 million for the Library and Learning Center at SCF Bradenton. SCF previously received $8.7 million in Public Education Capital Outlay funds from the Florida Legislature, allowing SCF to move forward with the planning and design phase of the project.

At the December meeting, the board gave approval for SCF to negotiate with top-ranked architect firm, Williamson Dacar Associates Inc., for professional design services for the Library and Learning Center.

The board also approved financial and non-financial consent agenda items and the selection of MGT of America Inc. as the compensation consultant.

The next board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20, 2015, at SCF Lakewood Ranch.
