All SCF 2015 Radiology Grads Pass National Registry Exam

(Bradenton, Fla., July 28, 2015) – The first time was a charm for the entire 2015 graduating class of radiology students at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). All 12 graduates successfully completed the national registry exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists on their first attempt.

The graduates are now Registered Radiologic Technologists, medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.

“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication not only of the students, but also the program faculty and adjuncts,” said Patrick Patterson, Radiology Program Director.

Patterson added that all of the graduates who are seeking employment have found jobs in the greater Tampa area. Potential employers include hospitals, diagnostic centers, doctors’ offices, clinics and orthopedic practices.

The Radiology Program at SCF was recently granted full reaccreditation with no citations for eight years, the maximum length of a continuing accreditation award, by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography and radiation therapy.
