SCF Theatre Presents “Someone’s Knocking”

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 18, 2015) – Studio 84 Productions at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) kicks off its 50th anniversary season in October with “Someone’s Knocking,” a slyly subversive comedy by Rich Orloff.

The play centers on Gladys, a woman with an idyllic life. She’s a model housewife with a husband who knows everything worth knowing, a TV set who adores her, and a rousing routine of refilling coffee that keeps her from ever having to venture into the big, bad world “out there.” But when Opportunity knocks on her door – literally – Gladys’ well-ordered life comes unraveled, with hilarious consequences.

Show times are 8 p.m. Oct. 2, 3, 9 and 10, with matinees at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 and 11. Tickets are $12; $10 for SCF staff and all Florida students. Tickets go on sale Sept. 22.

“Someone’s Knocking” features SCF students Marina Vorobyov, Nader Ajib, Yeshe Breeze, Marcus Colón, Maria LaVee, Chris McCoy, Roxanne Smith, Arielle Stein and Connee Marie Therieau.

The production is directed by Dean Anthony, SCF associate professor of theatre.
