SCF Collegiate School to Hold School Advisory Council Meeting

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 1, 2015) - The organizational meeting of the School Advisory Council (SAC) of State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at SCFCS Learning Studio, Building 19, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

The purpose of the SAC is to include parents and community members in the school’s decision-making process toward continuous improvement. In 1991, the Florida Legislature enacted the creation of School Advisory Councils with the idea that schools become more effective when there is outside collaboration regarding decisions made for student learning. The SAC meetings are a chance for parents and other participants to have a voice for creating, implementing and assessing the school improvement plan at SCFCS. Members include the head of school, parents, teachers, businesspersons, community members and anyone who would represent an interest in SCFCS.

The meeting is open to the public. Maps and more information can be found at
