SCF Partners with MTC to Offer Degree Courses

(Bradenton, Fla., May 19, 2016) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has partnered with Manatee Technical College (MTC) to offer associate degree courses at the MTC campus, beginning Aug. 22.

Two core general education courses, sociology and environmental science, will be offered this fall on the MTC campus, 6305 State Road 70 E., Bradenton. By offering courses at the MTC campus, SCF is offering students an opportunity to earn credit hours for an associate degree, expanding their educational opportunities in a convenient setting.

Principles of Sociology and Introduction to Environmental Science meet the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science general education core requirements. The sociology course is an introduction to scientific study of society and basic sociological concepts, methods of investigation, and interpretation of professional and popular writing. The environmental science course introduces students to living spaces using principles from biology, ecology, economics, sociology and physical sciences.

The sociology classes are offered from 3-4:20 p.m, Mondays and Wednesdays; environmental science is offered 3-4:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
