SCF’s Concierge Team Responds to Calls for Help from ITT Students

(Bradenton, Fla., September 8, 2016) — Student Services and faculty at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, have composed a concierge team to help students displaced by the closing of ITT Technical Institutes. SCF’s admissions, financial aid, advising, educational records staff and faculty will provide former and current ITT students assistance with transferring to SCF. Many of ITT’s programs align with SCF’s, including technology, engineering, information technology, design, business, criminal justice, and nursing and health sciences.

Students interested in transferring or completing their degree can do so via any of SCF’s campuses, including online by:

  • Applying via,
  • completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or applying for scholarships,
  • and providing transcripts to SCF.

Those who have already completed a FAFSA can update their application and school selection to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (school code 001504).

Realizing that many students have already exhausted financial aid options or their transfer credits may be in question, SCF’s ITT concierge team has dedicated staff from each Student Services area ready to provide individualized student attention.

“Our faculty and staff are concerned for the ITT students and immediately began working together to see how SCF could help,” stated Dr. Carol Probstfeld, president of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. “Financial and academic resources are available to help ease an already difficult situation and transition.” Dr. Probstfeld added students will have the option to enroll for upcoming semesters.

Providing a concierge-style student experience is part of SCF’s ongoing mission and strategic priorities. SCF is dedicated to helping all students succeed by recognizing and providing a higher education tailored to their needs.
