Ralph S. French Charitable Foundation Donates $25,000 for New Library & Learning Center

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 15, 2016) — The Ralph S. French Charitable Foundationhas donated $25,000 to State College of Florida Foundation to be used for the new Library & Learning Center.

The French Foundation was established to support organizations that educate and empower individuals to help themselves and others in need. Ralph S. French was a doctor who owned a home on Anna Maria Island. He believed not only in helping people, but also empowering them to help themselves.

SCF’s Library & Learning Center fits the criteria, as it will be a place that will help students and empower the community. The grant will be used to help pay for the center’s Creativity Studio, which will bear French’s name.

The 70,000-square-foot library will be under construction through 2017 with an expected completion date of January 2018. The Florida Legislature approved the project and set aside $17.68 million for building this important community resource. The Library & Learning Center will feature meeting rooms, archive rooms, a film production studio, café and seminar room.

The public will be able to follow SCF library construction through a webcam hosted at
