SCF, Manatee-Sarasota to Offer Smart Phone Filmmaking Class

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 29, 2016) — Want to harness the power of your Android or iPhone? State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has just the class for you: Smart Phone Filmmaking. Learn how to use your phone to make everything from video clips for Facebook to quality video stories that you can share with your family.

SCF is offering a three-hour college credit course designed to appeal to anyone interested in mastering the basic filmmaking principles applied to mobile phone video content. Smart phone cinema makes it easy to plan, shoot, edit and even distribute films. The class will introduce students to basic cinematic concepts. Students will develop the skills to create short form video stories. By the end of the semester students will understand the process of structuring and producing video storytelling, articulate the basic properties of filmmaking and how they contribute to a transformative audience experience, and develop the critical skills to think visually and make aesthetic decisions.
