SCF Offers Dual Enrollment Students Scholarships to Stay

(Bradenton, Fla., May 4, 2017) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has created the SCF Dual Enrolled “Stay and Complete” Scholarship to allow dual enrolled students to complete their Associate in Arts degrees at SCF.

SCF offers dual enrollment to qualified high school students in Manatee and Sarasota counties free of charge. The credits students earn count toward a college degree and high school diploma. To help qualified students complete their first two years of college debt free, SCF is offering the “Stay and Complete” scholarship for students enrolled during the 2016-17 academic year who have a 3.25 grade point average and have fewer than 24 credits to complete a degree at SCF.

Eligible students who apply by June 1 will receive award amounts for the full academic year (Fall/Spring) as long as they continue to meet eligibility requirements. The Scholarship Committee will review applications the week of June 1, 2017 to determine if all eligibility requirements are met. Awards will be based on academic performance and application. Award notices for 2017-18 academic year will be sent by email and will be displayed on SCF Connect by August 11.
