Lou Woroch named Finance Director for SCF

(Bradenton, Fla., June 20, 2017) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has named Lou Woroch director of finance and controller for the College. Woroch, who has more than 20 years of finance experience, was the assistant director of finance and has served as acting director and controller since September 2016.

Woroch came to Florida from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga., where he served as assistant controller, after starting his career in New Jersey. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of Florida and New Jersey and has worked as an external auditor of not-for-profit organizations for over 9 years of his career. Most of his more recent experience has been at educational institutions.

Woroch’s goal as the director of finance is to help make his department more visible throughout the college. He plans to update the finance website to help make the department more accessible for employees with clickable forms and easy-to-access requests. The finance department supports every aspect of the College.

“My goal is to ensure continued accountability and transparency by making financial reports and other documents available on SCF’s website,” Woroch said. “As a CPA it is my duty to ensure public trust.”

In addition to day-to-day operations, Woroch is responsible for annual financial reports, annual cost analysis, financial aid fee reports and other accountability and state reports.
