Independent Study Course Offers SCF Students an Opportunity to Study Abroad

(Bradenton, Fla., Aug. 29, 2017) —  It’s never too early to plan for Spring Break – especially if you can combine fun and sun with a couple of college credits. SCF is offering an Independent Study Course in student life skills during a study abroad trip over Spring Break.

Kristen Zaborski, an assistant professor of economics at SCF Venice, will lead the 9-day study abroad program, which will include canopy tours, snorkeling and visits to National Parks in Costa Rica. The program is offered in partnership with Education First College Study Tours. Zaborski said students can earn up to three credits and may travel without the option to receive independent study credit.

Students who sign up for the trip by Sept. 30 will receive a $200 discount. The cost of the trip is $2,400 and includes transportation, accommodations and meals. Zaborski will host an information session 10 – 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 in the student union at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The deadline for signing up for the trip is Nov. 27.

For information, visit or contact Zaborski at or 941-408-1483.
