SCF Faculty Member Wins Photographic Society of America Gold Medal

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 7, 2017) — Peter Gedeon, photography lab instructor, arts, design, humanities at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has received a Photographic Society of America (PSA) Gold Medal Award for his photograph “Planet-Ag – Sagittarius.” Gedeon entered the photograph in the PhotoVivo Singapore International competition. PhotoVivo is an online photography community and hub where both amateur and professional photographers meet and share their work and resources.

PSA sponsors the competition and their Gold Medal Award is the top recognition for an individual photograph. “I dedicated the year of 2016 to a self-assigned challenge – participating in one international art photography competition each week,” said Gedeon. “The result, besides the 51 awards, was 406 photographs had been accepted for exhibitions in this period in 52 competitions in 15 countries.”

PhotoVivo is well-known and recognized in the international field of photography for its high professional level, Gedeon said. Large numbers of professional photographers and photo lovers from all over the world participate in their competitions.
