SCF, Manatee-Sarasota Welcomes Students for Spring

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 2, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) welcomes students back for the spring semester on Monday, Jan. 8. Faculty and staff are preparing for students this week as new classes, productions and events are planned for the spring. It’s still not too late to register for classes. 

SCF’s student life will host the spring welcome back tables for students Jan. 8 and 9 at SCF Bradenton. Maverick the Manatee will be on hand Monday to greet students and celebrate the first week back to school.

The highlight of the spring semester will be the ribbon cutting for the new Library & Learning Center at SCF Bradenton. The new high-tech library will open in February with an exciting opening reception. Baseball season is already heating up and music and theatre events are on the calendar. Homecoming weekend begins Jan. 18 with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The weekend continues with a golf tournament Friday, Jan. 19, and alumni softball and baseball games on Saturday, Jan. 20. SCF also will open its campuses to the public for many events this spring including Avenues to the Future Feb. 24 at SCF Bradenton and Evening Under the Stars April 7 at SCF Venice.
