Radiography Graduates from SCF Earn 100 Percent Pass Rate on National Exam

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 9, 2018) — Graduates of the Radiography Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) took the Radiography National Certification Exam and all seven from the class of 2017 passed on their first attempt.

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists gave Patrick Patterson, Radiography Program director, the good news. Patterson congratulated the faculty on a job well done in preparing the students for their chosen careers. Students in the program are in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings as they learn and rotate through several health care facilities within a 45-mile radius of SCF Bradenton.

The Radiography Program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, will accept applications through Jan. 31 and is a limited enrollment program. All successful applicants to the Radiography Program must meet the requirements for the Associate in Science degree. The next information session is at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

The information session is designed to educate prospective students about the radiography program, a career in radiologic technology, and to allow them to meet the program instructors. In Florida, radiologic technicians earn a median salary of $51,300 a year. In the Manatee-Sarasota region salaries range between $45,700 and $55,250.
