SCF to Host Manatees for Kids Dance Marathon

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 11, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host the Manatees for Kids Dance Marathon 4:30-9:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Building 14. SCF’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) is sponsoring the event in partnership with University of South Florida’s Bulls for Kids.

Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement involving college, secondary and elementary school students in more than 250 schools across the country. Students spend a year raising funds for their local Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Children’s Miracle Network hospitals while learning leadership and life skills as they interact with children’s hospital patients and families. The year culminates with an event where the students stay on their feet through dancing, games, and entertainment in celebration of the total amount raised that year.

PTK is opening the Dance Marathon to all SCF students and the community as an additional fundraiser for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Tampa. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. For more information or to register in advance, contact Chloe Piedra at 941-962-2754 or email
