SCF Venice to Present Monologues to Benefit SPARCC

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 15, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will present “The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler at 6 p.m. Feb. 15 in Studio 307 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The college will present “A Monologue, A Memory, A Rant and A Prayer” at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 also in Studio 307. Both performances are part of V-Day 2018 and will benefit Safe Place And Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) in Venice.

SCF students, faculty and community members will represent the wildly divergent female voices that Ensler captured and wrote into the monologues. SCF is sponsoring the V-day performances locally to raise awareness of violence against women and girls, to unify and strengthen existing anti-violence efforts and to raise money for SPARCC in Venice. The event is open to the public and a suggested $3 contribution benefits SPARCC.
