SCF Future Business Leaders Bring Home Awards From Leadership Conference

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 20, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students in Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) brought home nine awards from the Florida FBLA-PBL District IV Leadership Conference held Jan. 27 at University of South Florida, Tampa. Nine SCF students will compete at the 68th Annual Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference March 22-25 in Orlando.

SCF Students won the following awards:

  • Gerald Adams: first place in business decision-making and third place in accounting principles.
  • Albert Cala: first place in accounting analysis and decision-making and first place in cost accounting.
  • Casey Horne: first place in computer applications; first place in forensic accounting; and first place in help desk.
  • Erika Rojas: first place in accounting principles.
  • Alexander Syromyatrkov: first place in financial services.

SCF students competed with students from the University of South Florida, Pasco-Hernando State College, Hillsborough Community College and South Florida State College. Team coaches are Judy Hangartner, Amy Santos and Louis Okonkwo.
