Enjoy an Evening Under the Stars at SCF Venice April 7

(Bradenton, Fla., March 13, 2018) — The State College of Florida Foundation is hosting a fun-filled evening under the spring sky, featuring the SCF Big Band, The Venice Symphony and fabulous fireworks in honor of the 30th anniversary of Evening Under the Stars. The event is set to begin at 6 p.m. April 7 at the Venice campus of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

“Celebrate Good Times” as the music takes you back to the 1980s. Guests can sing along to a Michael Jackson medley, get “Footloose” and recreate “Flashdance – What a Feeling” as you relive the 1980s and the first Evening Under the Stars.

Bring your friends, coolers and chairs, then sit back and relax while taking in the SCF music students’ performance as you enjoy your picnic. SCF’s Big Band will perform at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by The Venice Symphony. The evening will be capped off with fireworks, but this year’s show promises to be especially extravagant in recognition of the 30th anniversary. 

VIP tickets for the event can be purchased through the Foundation office. General admission tickets can be purchased in venues throughout Venice including, SCF Venice cashier’s office, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail; Centennial Bank, 500 US 41 Bypass; Synovus Bank, 100 Center Road; Putting on the Ritz Salon, 205 Nokomis Ave. S.; and Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, 400 Barcelona Ave. In Englewood, tickets are available at Centennial Bank, 1450 Placida Road; Key Agency, 1201 S. McCall Road. In North Port purchase tickets at Key Agency, 14942 Tamiami Trail, Suite H.

General admission tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, children under 10 are free. Reserved general admission tickets are $30 in advance and allows ticket holders to bring their chairs and coolers to the campus between 1 and 2:30 p.m. on April 7, to reserve a spot. In case of rain, the event will be held at 6 p.m. April 8 at SCF Venice.
