SCF Makes It Easy to Start College

(Bradenton, Fla., March 29, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is making it easy for high school students to transition into college. SCF will help students move seamlessly from high school graduation into their college classes all while enjoying the comfort of their home, the local beaches, music and theatre programs, top notch sports and the internships that will get them the jobs they want.

Admissions specialists are available to help students through the application process. Completing an online application to SCF is easy. Visit to complete an application form and submit an official high school transcript, residency documentation and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By filling out a FAFSA form students can find out what other financial aid is available. SCF will even help high school graduates get a head start by helping them to enroll in Summer B classes, allowing them to get familiar with the college and to ease into the fall semester.

Want a tour of the college? Email or call 941-752-5050. Not sure which program best suits you? Visit the Career Resource Center and meet with a career coach and use SCF’s tools to discover how your strengths and interests fit in the working world. Students who are transferring from another college should have their transcripts sent directly to SCF. Students who have their General Education Diploma (GED) should provide their GED scores with their application.

Students can register for their classes at orientation with admissions officials on hand to help with choosing classes and putting together a flexible schedule.
