SCF Phi Beta Lambda Students Win at State Leadership Conference

(Bradenton, Fla., April 12, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students recently brought home honors from the 68th Annual Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) State Leadership Conference held March 22-25 in Orlando. Ten PBL members from SCF took top honors, including four first place awards.

Students who placed first, second or third in written events and first or second on performance qualified to compete qualified to compete at the 2018 FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference and attend the Institute of Leaders workshops and seminars June 22-26 in Baltimore, Maryland. Students who placed third in any event are runners-up should first or second place winners drop out. The winners and their awards are as follows:

  • Christopher Davis, first place in two categories: cost accounting and project management.
  • Jennifer Dolan, first place in personal finance and third place in job interview.
  • Susan Macro, second place in mobile application development and fourth place in computer concepts.
  • Anne Miller, first place in management concepts, second place in marketing concepts and fourth place in financial concepts.
  • Elizabeth Ann Wright, third place in desktop publishing and fourth place in sports management and marketing.
  • Richard Wright, fifth place in hospitality management.

SCF also brought home two team wins:

  • Elizabeth Ann Wright, Richard Wright and Jennifer Dolan, second place in community service project.
  • Alexander Syromyatrkov, Erika Rojas and Albert Cala, third place in business decision making.
