SCF Paralegal Program Collects Donations for Children

(Bradenton, Fla., May 22, 2018) — The paralegal program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has joined the Suncoast Chapter of the Paralegal Association of Florida to collect new teddy bears, coloring books and other items for donation to the State Attorney’s Office of the 12th Judicial Circuit.

The bears and toys will be given to children to comfort them as they testify or wait to testify in difficult court cases in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties. The project will continue through the year and is made possible by members of the paralegal association. Sandra Barkeloo, who serves on the SCF Paralegal Program Advisory Committee and who works for the law firm of Boyer and Boyer, P.A., Sarasota, led a drive at the firm to begin collecting items for donation. The teddy bear project is chaired by Barbara J. Strode from the Boone Law Firm in Venice.

To donate anytime this year, contact Kim Grabbe at or 941-952-5242. In Venice contact Strode at or 941-488-6716. For information on SCF’s paralegal program, contact Suzanne Bechtol at or 941-752-5359.
